My day job is mostly writing click bait. So this is a subject I think about a lot. Even more so than the casual weekend warrior who feels the need to point out how formulaic Buzzfeed titles are.
But the problem is they work. So much about what makes people click through to an article is based entirely on the title and the image, which is the only source a user has about the content he’s going through to from Facebook.
And I can guarantee you that the last title would be used if it meant more clicks. Clicks are king. Even rage filled ones.
