Breaking Down Boundaries

Here’s a pro tip next time you’re approaching a door, look for the lip above the door. If there isn’t a push pull indicator then that should help.

One time I was walking into a place that had double doors and a knew the left hand side door would be locked. However, a couple on the other side saw me coming and stepped in front of the right hand side which opened inwards (into them). They hadn’t tried the left hand door and I knew that they’d think I was an asshole if I went for the door they were hiding behind and open it into them. So I fell on the sword and pretended to rattle the locked door. The couple smirked at me and pushed through the right hand side after they saw my failed attempt.

It’s ok. I live with it in my own bitter way.

If you had that moment again – would you do it differently?

Totally. I’d still jiggle the wrong door, but I’d do it like a worked up crack addict and scare the crap out of them So they’re more worried about their fragile grip on life than on a guy pushing on the wrong door.
