I never really make a big deal out of it, but I actively foster a weird aversion to water. Mostly the deep kind that doesn’t divulge its creepy secrets. Or pond water that’s covered in silt and plants. Pretty much any kind of water that isn’t crystal clear. That’s not to say I don’t go swimming at the beach and willingly get my feet cut to ribbons on shells, because I did do that. Everyone who works on the comic here watched me do it once.

Anyway, when I was a kid I remember this scene from what I think was U-571. Their going through this sunken submarine when they come across one of the crew drowned, and as their torch passes over his face a crab crawls out of his mouth. The image of it stuck in my mind forever after that, and that’s the story of the little crab you can see on the corpses mouth in the comic.

So I pretty much answered all the major questions about this comic.
