During the Republican National Convention on the 20th of July Conservative radio personality Laura Ingraham finished her speech in proper fashion with a salute to Donald Trump which quickly morphed into a wave to the crowd cheering her on.
Most of Ingraham’s speech revolved around what she called the “liberal media”.
To all my friends up there in the press: You all know why, in your heart, Donald Trump won the nomination. You know it.
Most media do know it, as they reported the official nomination by the democrats yesterday.
You know why he won it?
Because he dared to call out the phonies, the frauds, and the corruption that has gone unexposed and uncovered for far too long. Too long! Do your job!
Laura did a spectacular job at rousing the audience, and for her efforts she received the longest ovation of the conference, lasting 45 seconds. This is remarkable for the convention, but not extraordinary. A standing ovation in honor of Stalin got a 20 minute ovation until someone decided to sit down and promptly get assassinated. As a piece of trivia the longest ovation belongs to opera star Placido Domingo who got an 80 minute standing ovation.

What we see Laura Ingraham do is as shabby salute. While her speech showed a zeal for Trump there is little conviction in her Sieg Heil. In fact it seems like she’s pretending to not even be doing a salute! This is akin to waving to someone who isn’t waving at you back, and then playing it off as if you’re stroking your hair back.
She is of course a civilian, and lacks the military snap and precision. But when you’re standing in front of 50,000 gathered people including an added 15,000 media, you can at least practice your Sieg Heil in the mirror a little more.

A true supporter would have held it for much longer. All in all, a poor show.
